Excerpt: The gates are open, the roads are waiting, and your first adventure leads toward Copland Arena.
Welcome to Hornerville.
Hornerville is a small village surrounded by forests, old roads, forgotten ruins, and places most people know better than to visit after dark.
At first glance, life here seems peaceful. The village well is busy in the morning, merchants pass through the square, and lanterns glow outside the tavern at night.
But Hornerville is only the beginning.
Your first adventure will take you beyond the village and toward Copland Arena, where fighters, travelers, gamblers, merchants, and dangerous strangers gather from across the region.
You do not need to dress up, speak in character, or perform like you are in a play.
Just talk normally.
The Worldkeeper explains where you are, what is happening, and what your character can see. You decide what your character does next.
You might say:
“I walk over to the guard and ask what happened.”
“I check the road for tracks.”
“I want to enter the arena.”
“I don’t trust this person, so I keep my distance.”
That is all it takes to play.
There is no correct path through the adventure. You may investigate rumors, speak with travelers, look for work, make allies, cause trouble, or head directly toward Copland Arena.
Your choices determine what happens next.
The Town Crier will record the discoveries, battles, rumors, and changes that shape Hornerville. This is where players can learn what has happened in the world and what may be waiting beyond the next road.
The gates are open.
Copland Arena is waiting.
Your adventure begins when you decide what to do.
The Adventure’s Handbook remembers the hero.
Hornerville remembers the world.
Only your choices define you.
